Random thoughts on the passing scene

The other morning Chris got up with Zoya and sat on the back patio swing while she did her duties. He came in and I saw a red nickel-sized welt on his back where some spider had bitten him. I immediately put on OraJel (my go-to med for bug bites) with a band aide to keep the ointment on. Rick then went out with his bug poison and sprayed all the patio furniture. Sayonara, spiders and bugs!

I love getting texts from Eric with his thoughts on the passing scene from Mackay, Idaho. Quite enjoyable and brings back wonderful memories of growing up on the farm. I love to hear about the foxes, fish, moose, deer, dogs, haying, etc, that comprise his life. Also fun to exchange recipes (his sour dough bread is delish and simple). I'm sure he will love Colorado Springs when he arrives to play and help with gkids.

Chris and Alyona close on their house this Friday, but have some renovations and other work to do, so they won't actually move until Oct or maybe Nov. Then I will really miss them, even tho they will only be 17 min away!!

Little Zoya is quite smart. That same spider bite morning, she knows she's supposed to get a walk after her morning food. Chris had fed her, but went upstairs and didn't walk her. She sat in front of the basket downstairs that holds her vest and leash and whimpered. When that didn't get the desired effect, she pulled the vest and leash out of the basket onto the floor. Soon she got her walk.
