Ginger

Robin texted me a few hours ago to say that Ginger would probably pass this afternoon. Evidently she is struggling to breathe, is in pain, and the time has come to let her body go and her spirit return to God. Chris and Alyona just got back from Indy and said she was in a medical coma, sedated.

I have known a few people that I felt were "without guile" and she is one of them. Ginger loves God, and has strong belief and faith in God, and her actions matched her beliefs. She didn't just talk the talk but walked the walk. She is also a person who could see the bright side despite the gloomy clouds and stormy weather; she was a cheerful optimist, as opposed to me, the cheerful pessimist. She is returning to God, and He is welcoming her home. We are sad for us - for her 3 beautiful daughters that she must leave, Brian, her parents, siblings, friends, who must now cope with life here on earth without her.

It makes me very sad, and feelings like I had when Charles died, return.

Deer in yard

Rick and I were out driving in a subdivision that is a little more rural, plus the homeowners have really large lots, at least 1/2 to 3/4 acre. With all the rain we have been getting, the yards are Midwest and East coast green, so pretty. This fawn was standing in a yard, doing nothing, just standing. Even when we stopped to take the pic, he/she just stood there looking at us. I wondered if he/she had gotten lost and separated from mom. We continued on, then saw the mom.

When Zoya and I were returning from a walk last week a bird stood at the top of the steps to the front door and just looked at us. I was taking a step up, and Zoya was jumping at the bird before it ran off (with me pulling mightily to keep her from snapping at it). I went to the door to call Rick to rescue the bird, which he did. It must have fallen or tried flying out of the nest and got stuck on our porch, not being able to fly high enough to go over the stone wall, even when trying.

These babies have not learned to fear enough yet; otherwise they would know to RUN from humans and dogs.

Brian Williams - liar extraordinaire

Screen Shot 2015-06-19 at 3.22.24 PM

Just really can't add anything to this. Other than another liberal gets a pass; he continues making $10 million a year at MSNBC - good money if you can get it. (I guess I did have more to say, when it comes to liberal hypocrisy I always have more to say.)

3 of the most adorable grrls in the world

Landscaping

In Sept, Oct, or Nov 2013 (can't remember the exact month, but I'm thinking it was Oct) we landscaped our back yard along the fence. It cost $12,000 or some such figure; we super like how it looks. Mostly we did it because they built the houses in back of us and we wanted to try and hide them, especially the monstrosity to our left. The lots were empty with trees when we moved in, wish they still were.

Really can't believe how much the plants and trees have grown in one year. The pics are the summers of 2013, 2014, and 2015

More Texas wildlife

A couple of weeks ago our next door neighbor changed her pest control company; the salesman came to our house to see if we were happy with our service. I was. But being a true salesman, the longer he talked the more he convinced me to change: his service had stronger but safer to humans spray!!!; it lasted longer!!?*; they would spray our fences/perimeter and yard%$^^. This must all translate to more, better, best.

So I changed.

Right after I changed I found a scorpion out by the pool, then this morning Rick and I were sitting out front and a medium sized tarantula walked along the porch in the corner. I got the camera to take a pic, Rick tried to move him along with the broom, instead he hunkered down and pretended like a 2-3 inch diameter furry spider cannot be seen. Yeah.

The new company gets a call on Mon - get back out here and this time, get rid of the Texas wildlife in my yard/porch!!

Cute little beggar, isn't he/she/it. Wonder what Heavenly Father was thinking when He created this being?

Is this Max?

Zoya was tearing apart her glove and getting all the stuffing out. She looked so cute and reminded me of Max from the cartoon version of "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas."

Is Hot Dog Pizza Actually Pizza?

Pizza Hut will soon be selling a pie that fuses two classic dishes into one mutant meal.
I would like it if I could eat stuff like this now, but I can't with my upset and ill esophagus due to GERD.

Chris, Alyona, and Zoya

We have houseguests for a few months. Zoya is loving the backyard, and it's been fun for Rick and me to have them here.

Rain

Texas needs rain. Needed rain. It started raining about 2 months ago and just quit this week. Lots of flooding, damage (none to us, luckily), but we really needed the rain. And now Lake Travis, the end by Volente and The Oasis is filled. Yay! I haven't heard anything about going off watering restrictions, which is probably a good thing. Don't want to go crazy and use all the water. But it was amazing to drive to the lake and see it filled.
