Not that I'm a lover of Putin, but what a contrast

New fish out of water - Stella and Macy

I went to Stella's and Macy's swimming lessons 2 times, the last was on Mon. Kincade went with them on Tues and posted some videos. I couldn't believe how much progress they had made in one day!! But it was the same with Hattie; she went from sitting only, to being able to pull herself up from lying to sitting, to crawling, all in the space of a few days. Then a week later, she had started to pull herself up on furniture she can reach. Unbelievable. If I can find a pic, I will post it.

Back from Utah

It's too hard to blog from my iPad, so when I'm gone I don't do my usual at least weekly blogging.

My flight on Mon was delayed leaving Austin and I would have missed my flight out of Phoenix - the last one of the night, so I changed for Tues morning, arrived, picked up the rental car and went directly to Squirt's house to help with getting it ready for the big move-in on Wed. With a superhuman effort, she had gotten all her things out of the garage and tried to find new homes for it all, either hers or someone else's, and the garage finished into a wonderful sitting room. Along with moving her computer, ham radio, craft, etc room into the front room, opening up that room for Mom and Gary's bedroom. It really all looked so nice, and when everything is put away will be comfortable.

I stayed overnight with Scott and Jessica in Park City. The scenery is all he tells us,  plus more. These are pics from the ski lift, so much fun riding it. I also enjoy the moonlight ride we sometimes manage to catch at Sundance. As an aside, last year Scott and Jessica did the moonlight Halloween ride; they said it was cold, but so much fun.

The pics never do justice to just how pretty it is.
Scott and I got up one morning for the sunrise overlooking the Montage Hotel; it was so majestic looking, words can't describe nor pics do justice. I am an outdoors type of person; I love being in nature. That is really when I feel the closest to God and renews my soul the most.

Capitalism vs big gov/socialism/communism or any other type of ism that "knows" more than the proles and mostly just wants power and control

Everything is bigger in Texas

Something was digging a fairly big hole (inch diameter) by out the patio. Finally we saw a huge 2 inch wasp-like thing emerge. I called my pest control - cicada killer wasp. She said they wouldn't sting and will be gone in Aug. The only way to be rid of them is to drown them with high pressure wash in their holes.

Next, the mosquitoes here leave a big welt after their bite. Stella got 3 on her legs that left quite a raised bump. And this was in the middle of a sunny day, not skeeters usual biting time. I put Orajel on them several times and they eventually went away. Then yesterday, once again in the middle of a sunny day, I got a huge bite on my cheek. So this morning when I read that West Nile is in Mass, Kentucky, Oklahoma, I'm sure it's heading this way (if it's not already here).

A teenager drowned in a Georgetown lake, a man fell off his bike into a thorn bush, got a flesh eating bacteria in the thorn prick on his hand and had to have the hand amputated to save his life (the last wasn't in Texas). Sometimes it doesn't even seem safe to leave your house, but life under those conditions wouldn't be much of a life.

And Rick and I spent all yesterday saying we were sad all our ggrrls were gone. Too quiet, too clean, not enough mess lying around.

Vacay time with Utahites

As usual, I didn't get enough pics. I didn't get any with Chris and Alyona.

Hattie loved the pool, in/out/holding whatever; she kicked and played

Yikes - I have missed blogging once a week...

...but I do have a good excuse. Paige and Chris et al have been here, Paige for the last 2 1/2  weeks, Chris and Alyona just for a few days over July 4th.

It has been so much fun having them, but Rick and I need a vacation to recover. I will be posting pics and commentary over the next few days about our activities.

These are a few cute and funny things Macy said that I need to blog before I forget. Stella and Macy aren't allowed to have soda yet. One time they were in the pool with me I had a soda on the edge to drink. Macy wanted a drink and finally I agreed to just a small sip, and Macy said, umm, that's good. More swimming, then Macy asked me for another "small sip, just a drip."

We had bought some crayon popsicles and fudgesicles for the girls. Today I was getting Macy one of each, but she wanted the fudgesicle first and I couldn't find one, only the crayon popsicles. Finally I found one and told Macy, I think this is a fudgesicle. As I opened it and we both could see what it was, she said something like, "It's totally a fudgesicle."
