Spring in Utah

I flew to Utah April 2 and spent 1 1/2 weeks with Paige. We had Easter Dinner and egg hunt at the Upstill's on Sunday (we dyed them on Sat at Paige's). Scott had to work so I took his and my dinner over to Walgreen and ate with him. I played with Stella and Macy, saw all their new tricks, which are adorable. Stella slept with me every night - I love seeing her little body next to mine. Macy walks!! She looks so cute walking and dancing, which she loves to do. That is the bad part about living so far away from gkids - missing all the fun stuff.

I just realized I didn't take any pics of them in their Easter dresses, so here with their jamies and baskets will have to do until I get the Easter pics from Paige.

Maine

Last Wed, March 28, Jason flew to Philly, I picked him up from the airport. We went to Reading Terminal Market for lunch; I choose my usual, which is a brisket sandwich on pumpernickel, Russian dressing, and cole slaw.

The next day Rick, Jason and I drove to Maine to visit Chris. The guys all decided they would eat nothing but seafood, and I just wanted delicious food (Jason had lobster for 2 or 3 meals, which he loved, but I choose mostly incorrectly and liked but one - a corn chowder).

Fri Chris was busy with school, so Rick, Jason, and I did some sightseeing.
These are some pics of the Maine coast, and a lighthouse. It was so cold that day.

On Sat Chris joined us and we did more sightseeing. That evening the guys went to the Priesthood Session of conference. Sunday we left for home - all in all an enjoyable trip.

Fri Rick and I got up quite early to walk on the beach, and then along the road where Chris would be driving to school. We saw this most unusual tree with mushrooms growing on it. Rick snapped some quite nice pics of the sunrise.

Shivering in Portsmouth - but they are quite handsome!!

Testimony Sunday

Today was Fast and Testimony meeting, since next week is Gen Conf, and the next week is Easter. Perhaps because I had just been to the temple on Wed, but the Spirit seemed really strong today and touched me. It made me realize just how grateful I am to know that God lives, and that Jesus died for us, allowing the Atonement to be in effect in our lives.

I did bear my testimony, which I hadn't done since we left North Carolina. I am just so grateful and happy to have the church as the keystone and guiding force in my life.

A beautiful walk

Since my walking group meets every Thurs at 10 am, and since today is Thurs, last night when I went to bed I planned on walking with the group today. As a side note, yesterday I had gotten up at 4:45 am to get ready for going to the temple with Ernie, her first time, and was to be her escort. It was a completely delightful day, didn't run into any traffic to mention. The drive to DC took 3 1/2 hours and the drive home just over 3 hours, not at all what I expected or was led to expect, so I got home at 6:30 but was completely exhausted.

All this meant that when I got up this morning at 6:30 I was still tired and didn't feel like driving to Perkasie to walk (on a quite nice walking trail with a creek close to a member's house). Plus it was grey (on another side note I see that I spelled grey with an e and not an a, the e being the Bristish way and the a being the American usage) and looked misty and rainy and I thought not good walking, even tho the weather report all week was showing sunny and 80. I poked my head out the door, after noticing people out golfing - no rain, temp felt nice, just hazy and misty. So I decided to go, especially since I'm nominally the one who organizes the group.

We met at Sarah's house (with her 3 small and delightful sons), Brittany, Bruce, and baby Eliza showed up and away we went. The 2 younger than me women keep us clipping on at a nice pace, 3 mph or 20 min miles for 1 1/2 hours, and so we walked this beautiful path along a creek with all the spring flowers blossoming - outside walking, beautiful weather, seeing and listening to birds chirp - one of my fav things to do. If this is waxing poetic, that's how I feel.

10K walk

My walking group meets every Thurs at 10am. I choose different places for us to walk, usually outdoors and at some park or nature trails area. Yesterday we went to Peace Valley Lake; when we reached the point we usually turn around, someone suggested we keep going. It is 6 miles to go all the way around, but everyone was game, except for the mom who had to get back to get her K child to school. We did it in 2 hours, which is picking them up and putting them down (at least for me for 6 miles). So I did a 10K. Yipeeee!!

Flea marketing

Some friends and I went to a flea market. It was quite fun, but a chilly day - at least the sun was shining. We all bought a grouping of pussy willows; I put these in my master bath.
